That’s a Good Idea

Story by

Brehoni Jordyn, founder of the Incaberry app, has created an easy way for Australians to buy, sell and trade fresh, local, organic produce and build community connections.

Not everyone has the space to grow all the fresh produce they’d like, while others may have excess they want to share so it doesn’t go to waste. It was this scenario that led Brehoni Jordyn to create the Incaberry app, an easy way to buy, sell and trade fresh produce.

How the Incaberry app began

“The idea started when I was driving my mum through the Swan Valley looking for local growers to buy watermelon and grapes from,” Brehoni explains. “I found it so challenging to find what we were looking for.”

But Brehoni was determined, driving up and down side streets to find local places selling the fresh produce they were after.

“I knew there had to be an easier way to find and support local growers and that I couldn’t be the only one wanting to do that,” she says about the origins of her new app.

It took even more determination on Brehoni’s part to create and launch the Incaberry app, but now it has taken off and is a nationwide sharing resource.

Making organic produce accessible

But it wasn’t just the need for a more convenient way to find nearby fresh produce that led to the app, Brehoni also recognised a need for everyone to be able to access fresh, local, organic produce at an affordable price.

“The fact that families are buying non-organic produce because it’s more affordable than organic is absolutely insane to me,” she says. “If someone wants to feed their family the best possible produce but they are unable to get to a farmers’ market on the weekend, there aren’t many options for them.”

Lots of Perth locals are using the Incaberry app, but the app is available Australia wide, too!
