Max Allen

Wine writer
Max Allen is an award-winning journalist and author, and lecturer in wine studies at the University of Melbourne. He has followed the evolution of biodynamic and organic winegrowing in Australia since the 1990s. For Max, this type of growing seemed to be a really good way of growing grapes that allows the essence of the grape to really shine in the wine. He is now happy to see a widespread acceptance and adoption of certified organics, with other trends such as natural winemaking and regenerative viticulture also moving from the fringe to the spotlight.
