Makes one smoothie
- 1 small frozen banana
- 1 handful of mint leaves + more
- to serve
- 1 handful of silverbeet
- aloe vera gel from one leaf (about
- 1 tablespoon)
- juice from half a lime
- 1½ cups of coconut water
“We’ve all used aloe vera for burnt skin, but have you ever thought of consuming it… in a smoothie?” asks Yonson. “Aloe vera soothes, cleanses and reduces inflammation in the gut as well as moves toxins out of the body, making it a great detoxification tool. Also containing lime juice and green vegies, which promote liver detoxification, this super smoothie utilises ingredients already growing in your garden.”
Fillet the aloe vera leaf by carefully slicing off the outer skin, leaving only the gel.
Place all ingredients into a blender in order listed. Blitz for 20 seconds or until smooth.
Serve with fresh mint leaves.
